LG is definitely giving Motorola a run for their money. In just two weeks, Mobile World Congress will surprise us full of great gadgets. LG will be surprising us with the Watch Urbane. The LG Watch Urbane is the G Watch R with a sexy looking metal band instead of the G Shock inspired plastic chassis.
Even though the specs of the LG Watch Urbane aren’t any different from the G Watch R, it is still no less than stellar. It still features the same circular 1.3″ 320 x 320 display. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor overlocked to 1.2 GHz with 512 MB of RAM a juicy 410 mAh lithium ion battery for a watch. The Urbane Watch has a stainless steel body and a 22 mm removable leather watch band. Similar to the Moto 360 it runs off of Android Wear and is also IP67 certified for those that wants to run it through water and dust. LG claims that it’s thinner than the 9.7 mm G Watch R with a smaller bezel.
The pricing of the watch isn’t yet released. We usually get edgy when it comes to metal smartwatches. The G Watch R is already a $299 device. It’s actually $29 cheaper than the Motorola Moto 360. There’s a strong possibility that it could reach anywhere between $299 and $349. Whatever LG does, they don’t want to reach the insane price of the Samsung Gear S, which surpasses $399.
